cracking on bfgs???

ok so im talking to this owner of a tire shop and he's trying to tell me that bfg mud's have a problem with cracking between the treads, now i have never heard of such a thing and wanted to know if that was true. the only tires i have seen do that is good years on the sidewall.

My BFG mud terrains are starting to crack but that is because they are almost bald.

The owner of that shop must be trying to push another brand. Nothing wrong with Bfgs....many of my friends have run them without problems.

My set of Maxxis buckshots had some cracks developing between the treads, so i took it down to the shop to have em look at it. They said that was the first set they had seen do it, and they are now on their way up to maxxis for them to inspect them or whatever for warranty.

But this doesn't answer your question does it?

I guess all brands have a bad tire or two roll off the line. I had BFG muds on my previous truck. No problems.

I have the original, 2 sets. No cracking. It depends on the conditions. Put any tire under the hot sun and work it and after some time it will crack.

I agree. Some tires may be a little more resistant than others, but under extreme conditions rubber is still rubber.

1 or 2 bad tires? You must have forgot about Goodyears. It says right on the side wall, they're only good for a year!!!!

In all seriousness, a guy from Goodyear my dad was talking to said that it takes 4 sets of tires to find 1 good set for your truck.

BFG's are OK, i guess, but I'll stick with my Swampers and Boggers.

Later

there goes the neighborhood-

Don't take everything people says so literally. I was merely saying that EVERY company has a bad tire occasionally. "A bad tire or two" was just a figure of speech used to express my opinion that bad tires do get by them.

I understand that. I was just stating that Goodyears(or is it Badyears?)aren't as good a tire as everyone cracks them up to be.

By the way02superstroker, how are those SSR's?

We sell a ton of BFG both muds and A/T in my seven years of dealing with BFG I cant remember running into a "RASH" of cracking tires. As mentioned in an earler reply ANY tire co. will have a few defects , but The Bfg do not have a PROBLEM with cracking.
