Overdrive button fix?

Overdrive button fix?
Anybody ever done it? '01 F-250.
I'm assuming its just in the wiring since its basically useless. No light, and I cant keep it out of overdrive.
I've just learned today on short notice that I'm going to be pulling my enclosed trailer (~8000lbs loaded) out of town this weekend, and I don't think it'll do it in overdrive.
Dropped by a few places in town to have it fixed, but nobody can get me in until saturday with the holidays here, and Im pulling out friday night!
