I know you'll all hate me asking this but are the JC Whitney replacement body parts a decent fit? I need a replacement driver's side front fender and have not been able to find a straight one anywhere around.
JC sells a replacement for $70 I believe but I don't want to get stuck with something that won't line up. If those are no good does anyone have any other suggestions on where to look?
I've heard that JC stuff is made in China (sacreligious to put it on a kick a*s truck like yours) and is of lesser quality and doesn't line up like the OEM stuff. Ii would hold out for a nice conditionn rust free fender from the desert or the south. Just my 2 cents.
I've heard the same but wanted to check if anyone had experience with them. You think the fenders on ebay, like the one below are the same ill fitting junk?
Simply put they are junk I bought aftermarket fenders for my f100 total jun k no way to make them fit had to wait on decent factory used New ones are about 350-360 dollars just keep looking around good luck
There are several sources for body parts listed in the links in my gallery. Get NOS units or parts made from OEM tooling. The steel in those units are far better than the butter soft overseas junk. Sometimes I think they make those junk parts on wooden molds with wooden mallets to form them.
I would stick with oem parts, I replaced both fenders on my truck with oem fenders, they were a thicker gauge and lined up great with all the bolts, the seams or body bends lined up better also. The after market ones are cheap and do not have the weather strip for the inner wheel pieces. My two cents.
the aftermarkets are very thin compared to oem. one catalog i saw says the oems are 599.00 each. ive used the aftermarkets to get my truck driveable until I find some oems.
