Hey guy's!,
Im gettin ready to put a big big system in my truck and I dont know how much amps that a factory 79' altenator puts out. Im guessin 30- 40amp? Im puttin in a 1000watt amp and two 12" alpine type R's 2ohm woofers.

Can't vouch for them but there's a seller on ebay that has 200 amp Ford alternators for about $200. I'm going to get one next month when I install my dual batteries.
The stock alternator will not do too well for a 1000 watt amp but you may want to look into a 1 farad capacitor with a low ESR. This will help power the amp without burning out the stock alternator so fast. When you get a high output alternator it will keep you from dragging it down.
