Just picked up a parts truck, have a question.

I just picked up a 1975 F250 parts truck. I have a 1979 F150 that I use for mudding, the cab floor is in a word..SHOT! I plan on takeing the cab off the '75 and putting it on the '79. Will there be many problems with this swap as far as bolting it up? Also, the F250 has a Dana 60 rearend under it, and I plan on putting it under F150. I am guessing that the Ujoint for the drive shaft is going to be bigger on the Dana 60 compaired to the 9" that is under the F150 now. Can I just replace the slip yoke on the drive shaft to one that will fit the 60?

Thank you in advance.

i think your cab swap should be easy with about 5 of your friends to lift. the only concern i have is if the F-250 is a high-boy then i know the frame narrows at the back. with that said just measure all the distances between the mounts and if they are the same then your good to go as far as i know. for the axle i agree that the u-bolts are probably bigger(not sure, never dealt w/ a 9in) and for the driveshaft use the one from the F-250 and as well as taking the yolk off and put it on your mudder. hope that helps a little

You can get a u-joint that is off sized to mate the D60 to your driveshaft. But your problem may lay with your Driveshaft being to long if you swap in the D60 due to the front of the Rearends sizes.

Actually the extra length on the 60 may help a bit. I plan on adding another 3 inches of suspension lift to the truck before the 60 goes in. Will have to take some measurements just to be sure, may still have to shorten it a bit. I checked the frame behind the cab on the 250 and it is the same as the 150, hopefully the ones in the front are the same also. If not I'll have to do some fab work. Thanks for the information.

front mounts are the same. Any 73-79 2wd standard cab will fit f-150 4x4 chassis with no mods it's the 73-early 77 f-250 4x4 that mount different at the rear and a drill fixes that
