Cool My first Expy

Hello All,

This is my first post in this forum and I am a brand new onwer of a '98 Expy XLT 4.6 engine 4x4.
It has high mileage on it about 96k but I trust Expys to go way further than the current mileage, correct me if I'm wrong.
My question is what are the things I should have checked, replaced as preventive measure or in lieu to avoid a more expensive repair in the future.
Drive train?
Thanks for any replies, I`m loking forward to learn from everybody and maybe even contribute as much I can.
Regards

Do you have records of the previous maintenace? Can you get the preivous owner's phone number or the place where he had it serviced? If all is well, then wait until 120K miles and have the complete 120K mile service done with tranny, transfer case flush, spark plug change, etc.

I expect 250K from my Expy, but I follow all Ford guidelines as to maintenance. At 122K miles, nothing has broken, failed or worn out yet.

humm...I havent check all the paperwork that it has yet, but I know that it used to be a company fleet car.
Runned a Carfax report ,no problems.
The dealer I got it from had purchased it from a auction.
Expy runs strong but assuming that nothing was done, should I just go ahead and have this service done right away?

Yes. Have all the filters and fluids changed, thereby establishing a maintenance baseline. You may want to have the belt and hoses changed as well. BTW, spark plugs are scheduled to be changed at 100k
