Another question for emtabmm

Hello, I filled up my truck for the first time and I noticed that after the fuel warning light came on that about 15 miles later my guauge was reading at almost empty. When I finally filled up, the pump said that I pumped in about 25.667 gallons of diesel into my 29 gallon tank. I thought that the warning light was supposed to come on at around 8 gallons. If this is the case then my gauge is off or something else is going on. I have not seen anything relating to 04's having this type of issue. Have you heard of anything pertaining to 04's having fuel gauge issues? If so, please let me know your take on this. If you don't think there is an issue then maybe I am just paranoid about my 04 having simialr issues to the 03. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

low fuel lamp should be on at approx 1/8 tank. 29 / 8 = 3.6
close...

my low fuel light comes on at about 4 gals.

How many gallons of fuel is unusable? Is it like an airplane where x amount will not pick up, or will the fuel pickup suck every bit of fuel out of the tank?
