My 78 F250 broke down on me over the weekend while moving. It really sucked because this had been the 3rd time this had happened to me over the past 3 years.
The roll pin holding the distributer gear in place sheared off.
I have a 400 motor which is pretty much stock (except for headers and mild cam)
Anyone else run across this problem or any ideas what is causing this to happen?
About 3 years ago I rebuilt the motor after this happened the 1st time. I thought the oil pump may have siezed. It had about 80K miles on a rebuilt and I was unsure if there was any engine damage.
