You can find them in salvage yards, but in most cases same, or worse condition as harness you want to replace. I was able to salvage a 65 f100 dash harness that was somewhat of an improvement. Purchased an instrument cluster on e-bay with the under dash harness attached fairly good condition.
Not sure how much is "an arm and a leg". Mr. Mustang makes reproduction engine, tail light, and heater harnesses for the 65/66 ford truck. They vary in price. I purchased the 3 engine compartment harnesses. They are as close to the original as i have seen.
Have not been able to find company who reproduce dash harness.
Good luck,
dave

I think one of the after market wiring systems are the best way to go. You will get new wires, new fuse block and the new type fuses. Most of us are not using the original systems anymore, because we add after market ignition systems, power accessories, different gages and sterio systems. You could spend a lot of money for an original system and then spend more money modifing it to meet your changing needs. Many after market systems are out there and cost less than 300 bucks. IMHO!
I need one also
So far I redid mine with toggle switches mounted on a plate until I can get the money to do it the right way.
I got a switch for power to ignition, a push button in the windshield wiper hole (above ignition switch), a switch for fan, switch for headlights/taillights, and 2 others that arent hooked up right now
BUt I got it that way so I can still race it in street legal til I get the money for the improvements
