Need 302 Advice

I have a 302 in my '64 F100 and I need a little help.

I have an air leak somewhere and I am going over it and replacing some carburetor gaskets.

In addition, I have noticed some tubes coming out of the back of the heads and going somewhere behind the carburetor mounting area and they are bent and blocked off.

Is there away that they can be removed to clean up the engine area, kind of like a block off plate?

Can I remove the EGR Plate (not in use, no vacuum lines) and mount the carburetor to the intake manifold?

I assume that this engine has been retrofitted to the '64. It sounds like the thermactor system that is blocked off at the back of the heads. There is a Ford part to block it, or you can just use a short bolt.

Yep, the 302 was retrofitted into the truck.

I am figure out what things I can remove from the system, sense half of it was already removed when I go the truck.

I have removed a few things and I replaced them with plugs so they it looks cleaner in the truck. Nothing like looking at ripped out parts.

Thanks for the tip on the rear piping.
