Well today my ABS light came on while driving. Sure enough it was out. I was able to lock up the brakes and skid to a stop(gravel road).
After my service call I got back in and the light went off and ABS started working again. Now, on the way home my tranny started shifting real hard and it seemed to rev higher than normal before it would shift. I wonder if my computer is acting up or what. Any ideas are appreciated..btw I had the transmission fluid replaced at 35k and now have 78k miles. I don't tow anything but do alot of city stop and go driving. I guess I'll replace the fluid again and see if it goes away..
Sounds like the vehicle speed sensor. Gets gummed up with particles since it is a magnet. It sits on the top of the rear diff., easy to get to. A $10 part if it needs replaced.
My truck did the same and I got help here. If you watch the speedometer it probably won't read until after 30mph when it is shifting hard and the ABS light is on. I would always stop and turn off the ignition and restart, this would usually reset things till I changed out the VSS. No problems now.
