I'm looking for a exhaust Kit.. I've found one that exits in the stock locale and one that comes straight out the back, but i have to be different, i want one that comes out between the back of the cab and in front of the tire. Somewhere between there.. at about a 45 degree angle.
Ive got a set of Hedman headers with 3" collectors o nthe motor and a set of turn downs on them now. I like it but.. neighbors and some cops dont sooo I guess i need a exhaust system.
I've got a photo that shows Kinda what I want.. I checked motorhaven and didnt find anything.. so.. HELP!!!
seems like we have the same taste, tilting front ends and loud exhaust.I used to run just two small pieces of flexpipe shooting down at the groung right off the header collector. My exhaust now comes out at a 45 degree angle about 12 inches from the cab on both sides. I stayed with straight pipe and it's not as loud when you send it through 6 feet of pipe on both sides.I say screw the neighbors, but if you love your neighbors that much, glasspacks should do the trick.
I think i want it to come out the cab corner as im putting flatbed on it. Either that or I'll put pipes coming up thru the bed. Nice 6" chrome stacks like on the big truck. hehe Redneck thru and thru
you know it, i honestly stick by one motto,"it's gotta be loud and obnoxious first, then you work on everything else". You could also get those splitter things, run mufflers most of the time, but when you want you push a button and you're running straight pipe.
I have always preferred a powerful rumble to just plain loud and obnoxious. It takes talent to get performance and a nice rumble. It takes nothing but a piece of pipe to make it loud and obnoxious.
If you don't mind 2" i.d. pipe, J.C. Whitney has a kit that does exactly what you want. Otherwise you will have to find a better muffler shop. Either that or do it yourself.
I'd go with a pair of glasspacks. They don't sound horrible and they're only about $15 each. You should be able to find some pre-bent exhaust pipe pieces at a parts store for a few bucks a piece and make what you want.
I actually bought two 10 foot pieces of 2 1/2" exhaust pipe and made my own. I used a sawzall to cut a wedge out of the pipe, bent it, and welded the seem. It's a total "Red Green" rig job, but it was cheap and, most importantly, it works. Sounds great too.

No, not the sunroof. But I am going to do the air conditioner conversion that he did. It uses a window AC from a house. I think I'll put in the rear slider.
