thermostat??
I have a '98 Ranger regular cab, 4 cyl............. heater quit blowing hot, doesn't even get lukewarm. Figured I'd change the thermostat first, done that lots of times before......... NO BIG DEAL, right? No problem.......... except I take off the top rad. hose, and the thermostat housing apparently maybe is not that? Nothing in there....... so I thought I would try to take off the housing, except all the bolts are hidden behind and under the timing belt housing, which I tried to remove (only the housing)......... so that's where I'm at. Anyone changed the thermostat on theirs before?? I wouldn't think it should be THAT hard......... heck I've done it LOTS of times before.....
Any help or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.......

How many bolts are there to remove the thermostat housing? If I take off the timing belt cover, how many bolts are there? I found one pretty much center on the cover, but it seems like there's another one way down deep under something else, is that right?
Geeezzzzz after changing thermostats on a 71 Torino, and my old 79 GMC and a 78 Chevy truck, among others, I would have never guessed it would be like this, hahahaa.
Oh..... your signature..... "It ain't fun unless it's done the hard way"..... I'm afraid I disagree, my friend, haha. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.
