2000 Dodge 1/2ton 4X4 buried to the top of the left front tire. This kid had tried to go around a gate and ended up burying this poor truck. The truck was sitting at about a 30 degree angle with the left front buried so bad in not quite frozen but kind of creek bed. Left front crud up to the axel wheel spinning, right rear wheel is at such an angle that it is free wheeling. Just to give you the idea on how this thing was stuck. Four inches of snow on the ground, pulled up tailgate to tailgate, pulled out the old chain, hooked it up to his rear axel and to my trailer hitch. With out even break’n loose the tires that pig was out! Any body considering buying a Super Duty, this was incredible. We were all amazed, I told him of course it pulled it out, but it really blew my mind! With the weight and traction of these things, wow I’m still impressed! Just thought I’de share the story, in case anybody is think’n about something other than one of these monsters.
great story, i wish mine had turned out so well. I got stuck this spring at a campsite with my 26ft trailer. It had been raining in the area on and off for a few weeks prior to memorial day and most of the sites were mush. I had her in 4x4 high, low, nothing.... had to get pulled out by an F150 who had traction, being he was on the pavement.

I'm impressed.
I didn't believe it could be done considering you've got those manual crank type windows,on top of that manual hubbed, lever operated,4wd. system.
couple years ago I had gotten stuck in an apartment complex near the snow bank. My right front wheel on the bus was sitting over the drain for the lot in a rut. Because I get little traction in the rear with the bus I use, I was stuck. I waited for a co-worker to come out. He came with a 93 ford bus (like the one I cut up) pulled me right out. Did spin the tires a little. But my bus does weight quite a bit more.
Pic's, where's the camera when you need it. They would'a been great. As for telling him to get a different truck, well it was one of my students and it was his Dad's truck. Kinda felt sorry for the little ^%$&!
