Question Wiper Blade preference

What size and make is everyone using? I'm looking for a good allseason blade(mainly city/highway driving). My biggest problem is when it's snowing and you have to pull over to snap the blades to get rid of the snow and ice buildup....

I dunno about the ice part, but I always use the teflon blades from Napa.....I changed the blades on my Expy as soon as I got it home. No streaking, no noise, and they last a good while too....Just make sure you use the correct adaptor from the box....I made that mistake once (and only once)...

I use regular 21" or 22" ANCO form Wal-Mart. During the summer it is so humid here that the blades will crack anyway, so why pay big money for them. They work just as well as the Rain-X brand in the rain, and I have a car port that I park under, so I don't normally worry about ice.

Can't help you with the snow issue, I only have a few dozen blizzard experiences. However, I can tell you what I found about price vs. value. $20 blade refils don't clean any better or last any longer than $8 blade refills in the heat and air pollution of Texas.

Get winter blades with the rubber boot covering the whole blade.

You can go up to 24" on the driver side and 22" on the passenger side. I've got 22" on both sides.

I put the Bosch Micro Edge Excel's a while back and have not been too impressed, but like tsdrallyer mentioned, Texas weather is brutal on blades. Lately I've heard a lot of talk about a silicone blade that very good and is lifetime guaranteed. I've also heard good things about Trico's teflon blade.

I did put a cheap pair of winter blades with the rubber boot on the arms, but the blade on the passenger side will not conform to the windshield. I have 22 inch on bother sides...

I've heard that you can take a sharp blade and run it along the length of the wiper blade at about 30 degree angle (towards you) and the wiper blade will be good as new!!! Do it a couple of times to clean the edge. Dont cut into the wiper blade. I too just get the WalMart ANCO blades for about $4.00, each. I did not see any refills there.

has any one heard of this??? I am not sure if this helps or mess-up the wiper blade.

Try at your own risk.

I had to remove the winter blades with the protective snow boots because they were too dangerous. Whenever driving 70+ on the highway during rain or snow the blades would lift on the glass and only "smear" not "clear". Seems the boots have too much surface area and tend to lift like a wing due to the air pressure at speed. Don't know if anyone else has experienced this but it ain't good!

I swear by the PIAA silicone blades, they work well in all weather even after like 4 months. I got mine free from a friend so Im not sure about the cost.

I used the Bosch Micro Edge Excel blades, then switched to the Anco Wal-Mart brand, and the only difference I noticed was the bigger lump in my wallet.

The first thing I had to do when I picked up my used Expy was put on new blades. I put on Bosch but I don't think they do any better than cheaper brands. Six months of use and they are smearing. I don't think Kansas is any harder on blades than elsewhere.

I put Bosch MicroEdge blades on my '96 Cougar and inside of 2 months they were streaking and noisy.
Based on that I won't use Bosch anymore.
I'm also in the Windy City chapter of http://www.mercurymarauder.com and let me tell you, the Marauder guys are extremely fussy about their cars; some are actually using GM brand blades. Try going there and doing a search and see what's most popular. And while you're there you can find some pretty hot American 4200 lb 4dr sedans. Tell 'em Uncle Lar sent you.
