Center console swap...
Have any of you removed the center console/storage and replaced it with a seat in between the cpt chairs in a lariat. I'm thinking about doing this so I can fit 6 instead of 5 in my CC. Just wondering though and if anyone has the center folding seat how wide is it. I think I would have to remove my inboard armrest. Thanks in advance. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I have a 2002 F250 SD XLT with the fold down center front seat. I just measured it. It measures 16" wide. There is some gap for the seatbelts to come through for each seating position. The fold-down center console/seat has a storage bin in it so when it's folded down, it makes a nice armrest and has 2 cupholders built into it.
It has four points which it bolts onto the sides of the transmission hump and the footing is in the shape of an Omega (if you're familiar with that?). The center seat does not slide forward, it is stationery/fixed.

I did the exact same thing you are thinking of doing... The center seat (arm rest) bolts to the front two seat bolts and you have to drill the two back bolts holes yourself. The only thing about the whole process I did not like and still don't is you have to cut the factory inboard armrest studs off. I bought my seat from a place in Elkhart, IN. off E-Bay for $125.00. And they sold me wooden covers to bolt over the holes in the seat left by the armrests. But there was not enough clearance to use them, if you ever want to put the seat back up so someone could ride in the middle. But unless you put the drivers or pass seat all the way forward you can't see the holes anyway. The whole process took me a little over an hour to do with air tools, most of that was spent getting the armrest studs off with out damaging the seat. I do like the results.

It's a little pricey but, if they actually build each one custom, I would hope to avoid the problem dagwood had. I'd like to keep my capt. armrests in tact.
Anyone got this set up?
Pete
Thanks for the measurement.
Rick,
Thanks for the heads up. I thought I would have to lose the armrest. I saw one on ebay but it was 199.00 plus s&h.
Pete,
I have seen that site and was considering getting one of the center seats w/ dvd and tv screen
then I added up the price wow it is a bit pricey but i'll keep looking. Thanks again for all you replies.
