Big amp trouble

I just got my amp. Legacy american series II 4 channel 400 watt. Everything is hooked up, but when i turn the key, the door locks pop up and i canot push them down with the key on. Soooo, i disconnected the remote on lead and the door locks were fine. great. So i made a jumper from the power to the remote turn on and the same problem occured. o yea, NO SOUND FROM THE SPEAKERS!!!!! The power on LED is on when i turn the key. I have no idea why this is happening. Could it be the wiring? Or is it something else? This is with a stock radio.

What you may have done is to tap into the power door lock switching.....

and by doing so are probably cutting out the power or grund to the power door locks rendering them useless.....

The best thing for you to do is....if the stock head unit does not have built in
rca pre outs.....get some speaker level pre out adapters from phoenix gold or
EFX......

then wire the amp to the battery.....and the amp turn on lead to the
ignition switch (test the wires to see where you can get a switched voltage signal.....the voltage requirement is small)

given this info, you should have a working truck and amplifier....and get good sound from your speakers!!!

good luck!

you may want to put a siwtch on the amp turn on lead. if you wire it to the ignition, the amp will be on whenever the car is, and if you turn the head off, the amp will still be searching for a signal to amplify, and make some anoying noises.

I might want to add there is a security sys or something in the truck. It was put it by the prev owner. I think it might be a remote starter. I dont think its working(at least I dont use it). I used wires that were pre existing from the stuff (phone antena box and stereo stuff) the guy took out. Could one of those wires(the remote turn on) be connected to that thing in my truck? Its weird, that the locks still do that when i used a jumper. I dont know how i could've cut into the locks, but ill check it out tomorrow. TOO COLD TODAY!!!
