For the guys that have used this $500 rebate, can you tell me if you're dealer gave you a credit right away off of the purchase price or if you received a rebate check later on from Ford?
I've heard both, but I'd like to get an idea of how many have taken this off the purchase price and let the dealer worry about recovering the money later.
You have the option of doing it either way. Keep in mind that, if you elect to have the rebate sent directly to you, it may be considered taxable income, and Ford may send you a 1099 at the end of the year.
Can you give me your thoughts on whether the 3O day issue is really something that Ford checks into rather than just confirming the member card looks legit??
I'll tell the Dealer to have Ford send them the check and they can re-imburse me to avoid the potential 1099 issue.
I used the aqha rebate about a month ago. My 30 days was up about 3 days before my truck came in. The salesman told me that they have to keep a copy of your card for a certain amount of time, in case ford audits them. If they find that you had not been a member for 30 days prior to sale then the dealer is responsible for the 500 bucks. By the way, have 1800m on f250 6.0 build date 11/07/03 and no problems yet. only complant is still have burnt rubber like smell.
