I live in australia and the f truck i have is a f 250 4x4 4.2 ltr diesel and when i am in four wheel drive, i have no accceleration over 900 rpm i start off with heaps of revs then it dies off to the piont where it stalls, i have had the truck back to the ford dealer to see if they can find the problem out for me and i have had no joy can any one help me with this problem ? i look forward to hearing some sugestions thanks from wotta
It sounds like you have something in a bind? Make sure the transfer case is going all the way into 4x4. Does it do it in 4 low to? Try locking the hubs but leaving the transfer case in 2wd and see if it does it. At least you can try to isolate the problem this way. Let us know what you find.
255 cu. in.? wonder why it does not have any git up and go? What is the horse power of that motor? That is only a little over half of what we have in the US.
the asner to the question you have asked is the f 250 we have here is a 4.2 ltr 6 cyl diesel, turbo intercooled the make of the engine is a MWM, we are woundering if it is made in the USA or in some other country? I am asking the questions on behalf of a freind he is the owner of this f 250, the other ones we have here in australia are the petrol and other diesel type the most commen is the 7.3 ltr super stroke.
again thank you for your return e-mail and i look forward to hear from you again wotta
So you mean when you have in 2wd on a back road you have all kinds of power then when you simply put the lever into 4wd you have no power??? When you shift into 4wd does anything happen like the truck slows down or the like....sounds like we need more info....
