I bought a 1997 Ford F-250 2 years ago. The truck is still in perfect shape except for one little thing. The stock steering wheel, the style with the leather wrap with cruise control, the leather has completely fallen off . I been looking at all the junk yards in the area to find an old one in good condition, no luck. Has anyone else had this problem with the leather? I don't really want to sport the cash for new one, but if that is the only way to replace it I'll bite the bullet . If anyone knows any info for my problem, please let me know.
When I bought my '89 the steering wheel was all worn out as well. I peeled/cut the old covering off (to eliminate the uneven and rough feeling) and put on the best quality leather steering wheel cover I could find at the local auto accessory place. It wasn't cheap but it looked and felt great and showed no signs of wear 5 years later.
