I went out today and test drove four different used power stroke pickups. Two 1999s, one 2000, and a 2002 two wheel drive. The day before, I drove a 2001 Duramax 2500. All Fords were crew cab F350s, all but one were four wheel drive. I noticed that one of the 1999s seemed to have a LOT more power than all the others (maybe because it was painted black ), including the Duramax. Had no trouble breaking the wheels loose on wet pavement, even had it fishtailing. I couldn't get the others to spin at all on the wet roads.
One of the dealers suggested that maybe it had a Delta (I think) power adder setup that costs around $3K. Has anyone heard of this?
I am familiar with the superchips think shown on this forum, what other methods are there of getting more power out of these beasts?
The only delta I know about is the Diablo Delta chip. Also, he's full of smoke about that $3K power adder setup. Even the banks stuff won't reach that high (well, it may but you would see it in the engine bay). The Diablo Delta chip can be had for a little over $300.
