Simple Question!?

56 F 250.... Could anyone be kind enough to tell me how the light switch comes out of the dash. I've started dismantling the dash to prep the interior for painting and could not figure out how to get that thing out. I thought it might be similiar to the ignition but apparently not. I bet I lost a good hour fooling with that thing today. Thanks..

If it's like any other Ford product, you need to disconnect battery, then pull the **** all the way out. THen, find the little push button on the switch body and push it it. It's spring loaded. As you do this, pull on the **** and it will pull out of the switch. The nut or bezel should turn out counterclockwise. You may have to wiggle the **** and shaft a bit as you push that little button in, but it will come out. If you put you finger on the button and pull the shaft outward, you'll feel it in your finder as it stops. The button is on the opposite side of where the harness is mounted to the switch.

Thanks Barry. I'll see what I can do with it in the morning.
