New distributor.. Timing is weird.
HI
After experiencing weird engine noise, I recently put a new distributor in my 93 f-150 with a 4.9 I6.
After putting it in and adjusting the timing, the noise (sort of a weird ping at partial throttle) had 99% stopped.
After driving it for a few days, the sound had worsened quite a bit again.
I took it in and got a mechanic to time it this time and the same thing is happening again... It sounded good for a day or two... And now the ping is starting to get worse again, the more I drive it.
I suspect if I set the timing again, it would be fixed for another few days... Anyone have any idea why this would happen?
