What brand mud flaps fit well, work well and look good. My 2000xlt has the sport package with the step bars on the side and the brackets pocket the road dirt. I need a way to keep the road out of the brackets.
I was wondering the same thing, I have an 00 Eddie Bauer with the wheel opening colored trim and have seen O/E ones on Ebay from time to time, how do they look, I wonder?
I have the same problem, not sure if flaps will cure as I seldom drive off pavement, and they still fill with dirt in wet weather. I wonder if using a filler on the brackets is feasable?
I have a set of front used but in great shape and rear new which I bought on e-bay and never installed (OEM both), all hardware and instructions as well. I'm really not going to use them so if any of you want them give me $20.00 and they are yours, I'll ship'em for free...
I bought a set from Advance auto. They are custom fit formed mud flaps. They fit well and work great. I have running boards on my truck, and the front wheels were filling the running board up with mud and debris from the road! The rear quarters were also getting sandblasted from the rear tires! I have some pictures in my gallery and you can see the mud flaps on the truck. They were $25/ pair. They were well worth it!
To keep the not too well designed factory running boards clean while offroad... not only did I make mudflaps, but I enclosed the space between body and running board with black foam weatherstripping and black silicone caulk It does the job and had been on there for 6 years now with no maintenacce.
