Question ?Remove instrument cluster for cleaning?

I have a 01 Ranger XLT and the "glass" on the instrument cluster has dirt on the inside. How it got that way, I have not a clue. Anyway, I want to clean it but don't know how to remove the cluster and get to the inside of the plastic to clean it. Can you help me out?

Welcome to FTE Cliff!

I am going to move this to the Ranger Forum. Even though the Explorer and Ranger clusters are identical, I'm not sure if there is something different someone there might know and can give you specific instructions...

Removing the panel isn't that hard, just a lot of screws and the cable for the shift indicator (while working upside down). I took mine apart to add a white face and got it back togather with only one screw left over. Good luck.

I accidently removed the clear face when I was changing dash light bulbs. Like dono says, it's just a bunch of screws and some common sense when removing the parts. However, I did break a clip on the plastic housing the surrounds the steering column when reinstalling. Just use some care and there is no problem.
