Steering Gearbox
Is it common for any seals to go bad at the bottom of the steering gearbox? My pitman arm is covered in gunk and the truck is leaking power steering fluid. It looks like the bottom of the gearbox is where it is coming from, but it is hard to tell. It is a '75 F100 w/ 302. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My truck leaks at the same place. NAPA sells a seal kit for the steering box. I haven't got around to changing the seals yet.
Try a search like "gear box rebuild" or something. There have been a few discussions on how to pull apart a box and put it back together correctly.

I had one too that was leaking from around the arm, picked up complete seal kit for about $40 from advance auto parts store. I suggest getting better instructions then what they give you. Good Luck!
