You can forget about the "25 HP and 46 ftLB of torque at 2500 rpm!!"
I have the airaid system and it's nice but the increase in HP is only there at 5000 rpm. Anything below that all you get is "noise and more noise" as you press down on the gas.
Don't be one of those that's always suckered in by the "add this and add that" --- JCWhitney---- bolt on's for increased power. Understand---the less restriction for air intake will help increase power---- but your better off keeping your stock air cleaner replaced more frequently than shelling out $439.99 and being disappointed.
Granted---For that much money you get a "cool" sticker you can put on the side of your truck, but hummmmmm

Thank-you! Does the K&N produce the same result? I appreciate the info!

If you ask me, K&N's one of those gadgets that hit the streets and now everyone wants one because of their good marketing skills. The advantage of the K&N is you can clean and re-oil it, but, I'm not sure we (the backyard mechanic) get the proper coating of oil to get the correct micron level of filtration. I also think you end up with dirt and dust sticking to it because of the oil.
All-in-all, it's allot of money for something you get minor results from. If you want to change anything, look into a chip programmer or even headers which will give you a big change.

I just ordered an 04 F150 with the 5.4L. I talked to a guy and he said that somewhere on one of Ford's websites they talk about the new "Airforce 1" intake being one of the best out there for the new engines. Also with that intake matched up with the Borla exhaust system is a great increase in power. I just can't seem to trust someone that much who's trying to sell me parts that won't do what they claim. Any thoughts or ideas on this??

No-he's telling to right. The Airforce 1 and the Borla exhaust is a great addition (shop the internet for prices). I'd think you'd still see the same with K&N and flowmaster but the fact is your on the right track. These minor changes with the after market product are going to add up in time to a major HP increase and a better running engine.
Fords, hand are tied trying to meet the EPA standards and all the other restriction placed on them. You can see the engineer's dug into the after market with the Lightning but it's not something for the masses so the product is limited. People want better gas milage and emmisions so...
Keep in mind if you change your intake to the A-1, the old filter box is removed and the new filter is now allowing better air flow but it's sucking in warm air created by the engine (a bad thing).
The stock filter box sucks air from a hole in the wheel well (cooler air) so what you think your getting from the A-1 your really not. The objective is to get more air but you want it to be cool because heated air robs HP.

Typically you are going to see an increase in power from about 2700 to redline with an intake. 25 hp's doesn't sound to bad to me for a 5.4 engine. That actually sounds pretty reasonable but maybe not at 2500 RPM's. Then again, I don't know too much about the '04's and aftermarket products.
