cd player

in my 69 F-100, i have a CD player head unit, and it is hooked up to a cold wire, is there a hot wire i can hook it up to where my pre sets do not erase everytime i turn off my truck, it is really annoying

that would be your memory Wire hook it to you fuse box or something to one that stays on with out key use a fuse and if the truck is gona be siting for awhile with a battery un do it......hope this helps....

i did this its the right way, ok there are 2 different wires your HOT wire and your ign. wire, your gonna have to run a new wire for your hot wire you will run it to your starting solenoid then your ign wire should already be back there from your stock deck, i belive its black (i think) make sure you have a fuse on your Hot wire. Then when you shut the igt off you wont lose your memory in your deck, you sould on the cd player it will have a red and yellow wire. look and see which one is what i believe yellow is your ign and red is battery lead (i think) goodluck right back if more questions

The terminolgy is a little off.

You need a [b]Constant Power [/b[ wire to hold the memory.
Usually the yellow or Blue wire is the memory wire, it should have an inline fuse holder on it.

The red wire goes to an... Key on Power on <.....>Key off power off circuit
