Indicator on battery eye red

Can any one one tell me on a 2003 explorer what color the battery indicator should be, this is the little window on the battery under the hood. On my 2002 explorer it was green this one is red is this normal. Also on my 2002 it had plastic protectors on both battery terminals the 2003 its only on postive terminal. Can someone with a 2003 look under the hood for me and answer thes 2 questions. DA

From: South Central In.

have a dealer do a battery test for the cold crank amperage, eye should be green. may need to be charged, red "ball" may be stuck in position.....
