No.
Unless that's a typo. I'd say that a 315/70-16 would fit, BUT not properly and I wouldn't reccomend it.

Need A answer FAST!
From what I've read of everyone else's posts regarding maximum tire sizes, 295's will fit fine. 305's SHOULD fit OK, but there have been some comments on slight rubbing. But 315's? I wouldn't gamble on it. Especially if you're trying to mate 16" inch stock rims with tire designed for 17" rims. Any self respecting tire store won't even do it for you. Hope this helps (and that I'm not just repeating what the posts above already said).
Since the new H2 is a Chev 3/4 ton, I would guess that the answer is no. Chev/GMC and SD wheels are not interchangeable. Lug pattern and wheel design are entirely different.

The metric is pretty simple on light truck tires, especially with a calculator. Just divide the first number by 25.4 and you get tire width. ie. 315/25.4=12.4 Then the next number is the ratio of tire width and height id. 12.4*.70=8.68 which is the sidewall height. Then the next number is actually inches. That's how I figure them usually, simplest way I've figured out.
