No, that one doesn't control the hot air valve on the air cleaner snorkle. The IAT sensor tells the computer what temp the air is that the engine is ingesting. On 85's, the computer *may* use the data from that sensor to open/close that valve, since on a 85 they are vacuum solinoid controlled. On the 83/84, they used a bi-metal temp sensor hooked to manifold vacuum to control it.
