Front Ford 9 inch
I have been giving serious consideration to this instead of a Dana 60 (cost $1000+) or 2.5 ton axle. I have been babying my Dana 44 kingpin front end, but, sooner or later I want to run at least 35s AND carry 1500 pounds of wood without breaking an axle. Thing is I need to replace the original steering components and I want power steering and disc brakes, so, it might be almost as cheap buying a new front end setup.
"A choice of a standard 9" or Currie® high-pinion third members are available. The major advantage of the 9" are that they can be custom assembled with the widest variety of gear ratios and carrier types. This makes the 9" the perfect choice for high-horsepower engines and tall tires. With the right gear ratio the 9" can handle up to 400 hp and tires up to 37" tall. The stock front end is only capable of 200 hp and 33" tires."
The above was listed in the Jeep Section:

If you start adding up the prices....Might be better off to go with Dana 60.
