Power Assist

Hello all I am new to this forum and need a little help i tore my power assist valve apart to replace the seals inside and found that only napa can get the seals in a kit for a different type of control valve. The seals i need are in this kit but i dont need all the other stuff i found a part # on the seals with bendix next to it but no one around here can find the seals anyone have any suggestions or a non-leaking control valve?I obliviously have a 76 F250 4x4. Thanks

I have been told that the still use the ram assist on big rigs. If I remember correctly, the ford dealer may be the place to look to match up seals. I'll check with the guy that told me that if he's still around. If I find more, I'll post here.
If you dont find that seal, do a search on this site for power steering swaps or something like that and I think you'll find alot of threads on converting to the integral power steering. It's supposed to be the right stuff.
Tim

Welcome aboard

I thought I read at one point in time that you can goto a tractor dealer and buy the seals and what not for them because they also used some of that stuff on the old Ford 9 Tractors. I would try a search also. I have the stuff to do the power steering conversion on mine but finding the time to do so is the problem.

Thanks I bought the seal kit and put it in and it only leaks just a few drops when i start it i know on some spool valves it takes a couple of runs to fully seat the seals so hopefully this works, bye the way what is all needed to do the steering swap?? I have heard of it but never actually seen one done i have heard that you use a 78 or 79 powersteering gear box and a new drag link is this correct and whats a good price for a steering gear box.
