BUT WITHOUT ANY CODES TO STEER ME IN THE RIGHT PLACE I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TO START.DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!
no codes usually means a bad ground somewhere, if you have a bad ground your controll box wont send any signals or recieve then . the other 'much worse ' option is that your brain is dead , another test might be a back pressure test at the cat, but you would still show codes . are you using a hand held tester or are you reading the check engine light? the hand held costs about $40.00 bucks and is a good way to verify things. run a 10 guage wire from the negative post on your battery to the frame, then to the firewall . any clean bolt or screw will do . good luck ,bob
Usually a clogged cat will cause problems at anything above an idle, which is opposite of his problems. I agree about checking the computer wiring, that's usually the problem. Check continuity between SIGRTN and ground as well. Somehow I don't remember making that post above...
