I have a 2000 PSD w/automatic. I've had a few upshifts (under heavy load) where there is an audible squirt sound. It's kind of like the sound of squirting mustrard out of a near-empty bottle.
The sound typically occurs when ascending a hill while pulling our travel trailer. I've heard it on shifts from 1->2, 2->3 and 3->OD. Tranny fluid level is normal.
Is this a common condition, and more importantly, does it indicate a problem?
I have heard this too. I have the V10 with auto. I recently increased the firmness using the SCMT 1750. I only started hearing the squirt sound after the increaseed firmness.
anyone know what is going on?

I have a 2000 PSD and I hear it too....Sounds just like a empty mustard bottle. I mainly hear it if I accelerate hard and let off the accelerator. Kinof like the noise you hear when a Semi truck lets off his airbrake...theat rustic air release.
Well, using the Superchips Microtuner 1750, I put my computer back to stock. The squirt sound sound went away.
Oddly, the squirt sound was there with the performance tuning set but the tranny settings set to minimum. I noticed that in this mode, performance mode, the tranny shifted tighter than in stock mode. so performance mode must do something to the tranny settings, even if I set the shift pressures to min.
I just finished a major towing trip, I'll post my results of the SCMT 1750, gas mileages , power, etc in another message. This was also the first heavy load for the Road Master Active suspension springs, they work as advertised.
