Okay here is a new one for everyone.
I don't have my shop manual yet and I have a 70 F250. I like to keep things original but some stuff is fun to do and easy to change back to original like dash lighting. How many bulbs are there on the dash and or where? and are there color options for replacement bulbs that you know of? Like blue or Red?
Basically one for each guage and a couple for speedo. Throw two more in for the turn signal indicators.
With all the neon crap that is around, I would bet that you can get colored bulbs. I've seen all the newer selections at A-zone. Now, don't know if they will fit our old dashes.
Autometer makes colored 'boots" that go over their bulbs for aftermarket installations. If you could come up with a bag of those, you could change the colors and remove them anytime you wanted.
I usually have used the green covers in my gauges that I have installed. Kinda compliments older vehicles. I have seen red, blue also.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot. My truck is an Automatic, is there supposed to be some kind of lighting for the steering colum shift indicator? At night although it doesn't take a genious to figure out which gear you are in, it is all but invisible!
