throttle position sensor problems???
thanks in advance for the help...this is a great forum...I have learned much in the past few days.
I have a '00 F250 PSD that had the same issues you are describing. Not only that, I was experiencing rpm surges at low speeds and at high speeds. One day I had a bad throttle hesitation in an intersection then the engine sputtered and the SES (service engine soon) light came on. The truck made it home but the light remained on for the next few days. I had a buddy, who has basically the same truck, hook up his OBD (on-board diagnostic) and the code it read from the truck's computer was the tps. I ordered the tps from dieselsite.com, replaced the old one, and am back in business. The OBD's read the trouble codes that the on-board computer throws when the light comes on. There are several different OBD's but not all work for our trucks. A lot of guys use OBD-II. My guess is you need to replace your tps....good luck!
