When steering my 4x4 dually crew cab on tight parking lots (complete lock either side) I notice the front wheels are hoping like it does in four-wheel drive. I understand that being such a long vehicle at tight turning radius it does push the front end quite a bit but are the hubs suppose to be fully released when set in auto?
Is this a common behavior or not?
( hehee…61 feet curb to curb feels like turning an aircraft carrier!)

THIS TSB PROVIDES INFORMATION ON THE 4X4 SYSTEM, PARTICULARLY THE FRONT LOCKING HUBS. SEE TSB 03-04-01 ON OASIS AND FMCDEALER.COM FOR DETAILS.
Shouldn't matter if your hubs are locked or not, unless your transfer case is locked as well. All you have to do is jack up one wheel & it should spin free, the U joint should not be turning. Or turn the all the way to one side , drive slowly & have someone look at it. (don't run them over) Ford was having problems with the seals leaking for the auto hubs, I think that's why they went to auto or lock. That way if a seal does leak, you can still lock in the hubs & still have 4WD.

That's a very logical way to troubleshoot this issue, very good as soon as someone comes back around here I will try the parking lot method (without running over anyone, imagine what a nice Worker's Comp case that would be!).
Thank you

technical service bulletin
I try fmcdealer.com but that's a secure Webb site for Ford dealers, and the other one "oasis" (oasis.com) it's a high tech site.
Sorry I'm new to this forum and you need to be a little more specific with me. Thank you for being supporting.
Hey! it was meant to be a joke! You put in a comp claim & they will probably hunt me down & soo me!!! another thing to check would the alignment. This might be a reach but if you have a Detroit locker type rear diff. & that is staying locked for some reason, it might do what you are describing. Good luck & don't run yourself over!
