2000 f250 battery light

2000 f250 battery light
I am not a very mechanical person when it comes to engines, so bear with me. I have a 2000 F-250 5.4 V8. I am having problems with the battery light coming on when I punch the gas. It only comes on at very high rpm's. Does that mean I need a more heavy duty alternator, or that I need to stop punching the gas?

It probably means that the belt is slipping at high RPM. Time for a new belt.
