isaz,
This is a common problem. The rear light sockets are subjected to a lot of vibration which eventually renders the sockets usesless.
Go to your auto parts store and buy a replacement socket. Secondly, CLEAN the gorund! The grounds are always rusty or painted and can give you fits during diagnosis. After you've done this, everthing will work fine.

I forgot to mention this is a flatbed truck and the lights are attached via 2 bolts i cleaned them up real good and took a grinder to where they bolt on i did'nt clean the ground to the frame though.would this also cause my dash lights to go out as well.I thought it might be the turn signal switch.i will try to clean the ground and see what happens.I will try to replace the sockets as well or do i have to change out the whole light.

isaz,
Often enough the sockets are modular on these after market light assemblies. If you can change out a socket, hang on to those lenses, there rare! Generally, if the dash turn light is on constantly,(when headlight switch is on), this means the ground is bad or bulb is burned out. If the dash turn light is out, you probably have a bad dash light. Do you know how to get to a dash light?

Behind the bezel light right?Would that cause the signals in the drivers rear not to work or the stop lamp. And would this also cause the dash lights to keep blowing the fuse?

Thanks alot

isaz,
If your blowing fuses, you've got a hot wire to ground. Most likely, its you head light switch. If the power is going through a bulb, then its not shorted. If the bulb won't light, then the short is before the bulb, right? Have you inspected your harness? Do a quick inspection and see if you can find a bare wire. If the harness looks good then you'll have to remove the dash and inspect the harness behind the gages and at the headlight switch. if you have an extra headlight switch, swap it and see what that does for you. I'd go to the junkyard and pick one up at a discount, if you know what I mean.
