351/400 Crank
HI, I am doing a conversion from a 351m to a 400m. I was given a 400 crank. Per all the info available for location of the casting code( Bubba 250) I can not read my casting marks. Are there obvious other things about the 400 crank that makes it look different rom a 351m. Thanks

i dunno about casting marks, but you should be able to measure the stroke easily enuf. a 400 crank has a 2 inch offset (from main to crank journal centers) for a 4" stroke, while the 351 is only 1.75" for a 3.5" stroke. i imagine there's a difference in weight too, but not sure on the details there...

The .25 difference is a pain to measure with the crank out of the block. If it needs to be turned, ask them to verify it as a 400 before doing the work. It is easy for them in the grinding machine.
