high miles, serious problems

just wondering if anybody has some serious miles on there truck and any problems with the high miles. so far it seems there has just been the minor stuff, oil leak, smoke on start up, surging ect... . anyone having any major repairs? so far the minor problems i can live with. other than that the truck has been wonderful

Just hit 10,000 miles a few days ago on my 04 4wd...Tow anywhere from 5000 to 18,000# regularly. Only thing I have had to do so far is oil changes and rotate the tires. That power will evaporate that right back tire in NO time..I would recommend the limited slip to anyone looking at these trucks. My 7.3 had it and I miss that option.Other than that the truck has been bullet proof.Automatic tranny is the first Ford I,ve owned that I LOVE how it shifts without modifications!Only complaint? The steering has very poor "on center" feel compared to a 150...Would I buy one again? Can you say "best diesel out there?"

I've just turned 17,000 miles with mine and have also had no problems other than those induced by the flashes. I pull a ~10,000 lb trailer from time to time, and yes, it will burn down the rear tires :-)

I have limited slip and do strongly recommend it to everyone.

Hey People,
9500 HARD miles, no problems....the Detroit Locker in the rear works, now both rear tires lose rubber evenly! Way fun to drive in the rain.....
