First of all I would like to say that "This is a great forum" I have lurked here for a while, but this is my first post.
I have been running 70's F-250 4x4's for 20 plus years and wouldn't have any other truck.
The problem I am having (and I am sure that I am not the only one!!!) is the windshield defrost. It doesn't work well and never has on any of the trucks I have had or my friends have had.
I have a 77 F250 4x4 with a 460, 3 core HD radiator, AC cab, 195 T-stat. The core puts out plenty of heat, and the system is working fine, just doesn't seem to distribute the hot air to the windshield very well.
So my ??? is.....Has anyone here done any mods to the defrost system to make it work better. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Also check to make sure the foam gaskets are still in place and existant where the ducting pieces come together. Had that problem on my '78. Turned the defrost on high and got plenty of hot air on my feet. Duct tape works great too,,,,of course
Sandfantom,
I took all the duct work and washed it up real good with soap and bleach water. You wouldn't believe the difference it made. The cigarette packs are floating!!!
