2001 4.6

I bought a 2001 XLT 4x2 with the 4.6 as a back and forth to work vehicle. I already have an F-250 4x4 for hunting and towing. My question is this..am i going to be horribly disappointed with my choice of engine? I got an exceptional deal on the 4.6. Does anyone have any recommendations for add-ons that will increase that will increase it's general driveability?
I realize that the 5.4 is a big improvement on the 4.6 but is the 4.6 useable

I've had both the 5.4 and 4.6. If you're not going to be using the 4.6 for towing, I don't see where you're going to be disappointed at all. The only time I wished for a larger engine in my 97 4.6 was when I was towing a '67 Chrystler from Boston to Maine. There were a couple times I thought the hills were going to kill the truck. Other than that, I never found the truck to be underpowered.

There are tons of mods that you could do, from chips to exhaust, etc. Just use the search feature on this board for other people's experience.
