Question 89 C-6 for 460 CI engine

I have a 89 C-6 tranny for a 460 CI engine out of a E350 van that i want to put into a 76 Lincoln Continental with a 460CI engine and C-6 tranny. Will this work? Are the 89 C-6 the same as the 76 C-6. Thanks for all your help!!!!

Yeah they should be the same thing, should be the same hookups and everything, but a c-6 has nothing electronic on it, so i would not worry about it. The rear yoke might be a different size, because it is out of a 1-ton, but you can get u-jionts to fit in there and work.

There might also be linkage differences.

It would be in the same place though, a c-6 was generally a c-6. Only yoke and maybe internal differences, because otherwise it would not be a c-6, something else, unless ford specified different versions, which i do not know. Everytime i have swapped one, there have been no external differences.
