Won't Start
I have a 2002 F350 with the 7.3 with 247,000 miles. The problem I have is at times the engine will start and then die after 2 or 3 seconds, and will not restart. Sometimes it will restart after an hour or two. Twice it has not, one time it was towed to the dealer and then it started when they tried to crank it. This time it is still sitting in my driveway.
The cam sensor, the high pressure fuel regulator, fuel filter, and glow plug relay have been changed. I have also tried to spray WD-40 into the intake and nothing happens, it just spins.

My father-in-law had the same problem. It turns out a gasket was missing in the oil cooler from the factory. I'm no mechanic and have no other information for you. However it was a problem they had with at least five trucks at the dealership where it was finally repaired. The mechanic said it took them a long time to figure out what the problem was. Once they did, it fixed the problem for all of the trucks they were having problems with. For more information call the service department at Broadway Ford in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The truck runs a lot better since the fix. Hope this helps.
