fried something?

i used to have to start my truck by directly touching the starter wire to the battery, it would spark and crank over..

that worked for awhile but now it does nothing no spark at all
any ideas??

Is your battery still good? It is hard to start that way because you are trying to connect a cable that wants to draw around 150 amps.

yes both 850 amp bats are good the connection suddenly stopped
