Transmission cooler?

2003 F-250SC 4WD V-10. I can't see a tranny cooler other than the lines running into the radiator on this truck. My 1998 F-150 had an external tranny cooler in addition to the lines running through the radiator. The only external cooler I can see on the F-250 is the power steering cooler. Am I blind or nuts or both?

I was told by Banks that the F250 had more than enough cooling for the trans. I never looked to see how it was set up but I figure if an aftermarket company is passing on trying to make a buck it should be OK.

If you are worried about cooling get a transmission temp gauge and monitor the tranny for a while. If it gets over 200 degrees for any lenght of time while towing or heavy work then start considering an auxilliary cooler. Two types I was looking at is a static aluminum tube with large heat sinks that mounts inline to the radiator feed line. The other uses a stacked plate radiator and a 400 CFM fan.

It is sandwiched in between the radiator and air conditioning coil.
