I am in the process of fefurbishing the interior of my76 F150.
What kind of paint should I use. Is there a paint in a spray can that will give me a good finish or do I have to buy a spray gun and go that way. I never have painted with an air gun.
I have already sanded and primed the metal parts.
I actually have had good luck with old fashioned Krylon. Flat or semi gloss are easier to spray, I stay away from gloss because it runs easily. I rattle canned my roll cage and after it dried put a good wax on it. People think it a base-clear. What they don't know......
Good luck
Nick
I also used Krylon (black) on my '73 interior. It's been over 6 years and it still looks good. I'm happy with it, especially at a cost of $15 for the entire interior...
When you are painting your interior with the dash out... Paint the inside of the dash gloss white. Paint the upper part of the firewall gloss white also. It will make working under the dash a whole lot easier!
the white paint is a great idea I also did my firewall on the engine side in white and if i had known how well it was going to work I would have done the inner fenders to it really brighten up an engine bay but as far as the dash color if you're using a can mix your paint really well befor you start use light coats with an even application take your time then you might try a clear over it with metalflake paint a good base of white or silver or gold is needed to get even coverage be patiant let each coat dry throughly
