I don't know for sure, but have you identified them as FE heads? The FE head looks like 2/3 of what a normal head looks like as the intake manifold makes up the other 1/3. Take a look at the number of bolts required for the valve covers, let us know that, maybe we can go from there...

Pictures of heads

Hi mike I added pictures of these heads in my gallery if this helps at all. They advertised that these will fit a 390 up to a 428. I dont know for sure that is what I am trying to figure out I do notice that the combustion chamber seems to be machined in. See if this helps in trying to figure out what these are. thanks alot

Those are FE heads, '58 or '59. Is there anything after the 6090?

Barry's the man! These look to be nice and clean, probably out of the hot tank not too long ago (if they have been used). There are no hardened seats installed, that would need to be accomplished before using. Looks like perhaps they were service replacement heads, nothing too fancy or special though. Let us know if there are more questions specific to your intended use.

Ah EDC-E's, those are '58 only 332/352 heads.

I didn't see the post on the pics, we must have stepped on each other.

Those are in really nice condition! The chambers are machined but on the large size, don't know why the books say their small. They have LR style intakes and standard valves. Very collectable head for the FE gurus, that's who your target market is.

Those are a reasonable performance head if you get the seats and guides done. I use them on my 360 with a 4bbl they have nice large intake ports.

Yeah those heads have the biggest intake ports of all the non-performance FE heads, the exhausts are pretty good too. Funny how Ford went backwards from that point on.

What heads are these

So you are saying they would be ok for my 390 if I had every thing done to these that needs to be done. I have these allready I have new valve springs I can get the guides and hard seats put in them. How would I know what size valves to get for these. I am not building a race truck just trying to get low end power and for towing a 6700 lb fifth wheel trailer. Thanks alot for your input I had know idea what these were.

Well this is jmo but I would use some small port heads for towing like C8AE-H or D2TE-AA and leave the EDC ones all original or for racing, they kind of have a cult following.

Mike you are the one that said that you had a few sets of heads for the 390. I did what you said and called around to a few more salvage yards out here in Phoenix. The best price I could find was 175.0 for a set They will only waranty against cracks the did not know if the valves are sunk or what ever. This truck I am trying to rebuild who ever owned it first never ran anything but water and had alot of corision in the head and block. That is why I was wondering about these edc heads I was going to use these instead. Maybe I could offer them on ebay for a trade or something. I wish to thank you all for the help you guys seem to know more about this than I. thanks again

Hey, here's a set on eBay right now:

Ignore the 406/427 reference, that's very misleading.
